La Présidente du Conseil, Giorgia Meloni, a reçu le 29 septembre 2025 au Palais Chigi le Président de la République de Guinée-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
En réaffirmant les excellentes relations entre les deux pays, le Président Embaló a exprimé une appréciation particulière pour l’approche italienne envers le continent africain, promue notamment à travers le Plan Mattei.
Les deux dirigeants ont exprimé leur volonté de renforcer davantage la coopération bilatérale, en commençant par les secteurs de la lutte contre les trafics illicites, en particulier celui des stupéfiants.
Au cours des entretiens, il a également été convenu de travailler au développement de projets communs dans le secteur de la pêche.
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, received the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, at Palazzo Chigi today.
Confirming the excellent relations between the two nations, President Embaló expressed his particular appreciation for Italy’s approach towards the African continent, promoted also through its Mattei Plan.
The two leaders expressed their will to further deepen bilateral collaboration, starting with the areas of fighting illegal trafficking, with particular reference to drug trafficking.
During the meeting, the two leaders lastly agreed to work on developing joint projects in the fisheries sector.

Ao reafirmar as excelentes relações entre os dois países, o Presidente Embaló expressou particular apreço pela abordagem italiana em relação ao continente africano, promovida também através do Plano Mattei.
Os dois líderes manifestaram a vontade de aprofundar ainda mais a cooperação bilateral, a começar pelos setores de combate aos tráficos ilícitos, com especial destaque para o tráfico de estupefacientes.
Durante as conversações, foi também acordado trabalhar no desenvolvimento de projetos comuns no setor das pescas.
